Brief introduction to Trance.
What does it mean to be in a Trance? It is most commonly defined as an altered
state of consciousness, usually pleasant.
Trances can be induced by music, hypnotism, or simply by meditation. There are
many forms of Trances that you may encounter during your practices.
The most common type of trance is a "Blank mind trance", which is pretty self
descriptive. Almost like a blood brother of deep meditation, you find yourself
letting go of the world around you and thinking of nothing.
There are also active types of Trancing, to where you concentrate on a certain
subject during your trance state to find solutions or creative ideas.
THe most distinguished explanation for the difference of Trancing and Meditation
would be that the effects of Meditation tend to wear off during the duration of
the practice, whereas a Trance will keep you in that altered state of
consciousness the entire time.
Generally there is no way to choose what type of Trance you go into. The best
job you can do is to focus on letting go of your problems, or try to keep your
goal in mind prior to attempting a trance.
How do I attempt to Trance? Download some techno trance music! Lay in bed, and
listen to it. Either keep your goal in mind or just keep focused on the music,
and eventually you should enter your first Trance. Have fun!
